Having a Hoot on Tour!

Fall Wildlife on the Trails

On our past few tours, we've been graced by the presence of our friendly neighborhood barred owl. The owl, who we have yet to name, has been spotted on 3 of our last 5 tours, and I bet this owl's appearances will only become more frequent as we get closer to snowfall.

Owls aren't the only wildlife we expect to become more active before winter. Black bears are known for their increased foraging activity in the fall as they prepare for hibernation. So, if you've got the itch to see a wild black bear, fall is one of the your best chances to spot a black bear and the best times to explore the White Mountains of New Hampshire!

Earlier this summer, we spotted a juvenile black bear on one of our tours. Later that same day, we eventually came across its young sibling and mother as well.

You never quite know what you'll encounter when you're out on the trails. From the changing fall foliage to the wildlife that calls the White Mountains home, there's always something new to see at TrailCraft.
